Took forever to be seated. Food was only average. Don’t go without a reservation. Will quote 30 minutes and then it takes 90. Food is decent.

First off the restaurant itself is one of the most beautiful restaurants I’ve ever visited. It’s a huge space and it’s decorated perfectly. The location in China town was also really nice. The view from the window was amazing. We got a table right there so we were pretty pumped. Beer and wine list was great. Dishes were mostly good. Was not a fan at all of the mushroom fried rice, was bland. Apart from that we got several other dishes that were all excellent. Would definitely go back.

We had dinner here last month for my wife’s birthday. Excellent service, from the host stand to the bar to the table, without a single lapse in quality or timeliness. Perfectly decorated and immaculately clean. Peking duck and quail were amazing. Cocktails were outrageously good. Obviously, only complaint is price – it’s a bit more expensive than similar restaurants – but you get what you pay for here.

Outstanding place for quality Chinese food. very tasty. i'll return family next time. this place has a cool design. not so close to my office, unfortunately.

Very nice food - we had the classic tasting menu - with a good selection of veggie, seafood, and meat. The highlight was probably the quail followed by the pak choi. Ambience was solid albeit the bar is a little isolated from the main dining room. Service was very good and friendly. Worth a visit.

Mister Jiu’s is easily one of the most exciting and best places to eat in San Francisco within the last few years. Set in a historical building with a great connection to the neighborhood, this restaurant has definitely achieved its goal of changing the reputation of San Francisco’s Chinatown from a kitschy, tourist trap to a place with a real heart and culture of food. The updated takes on traditional dishes are all exceptional, packed with unexpected ingredients and flavours. The open kitchen is constantly buzzing, filled with passion and precision and creativity, a combination that is not always so well-balanced.

Great variety. Good place to take a group of friends. You get to share plates and opportunity to try a variety of items. The quail was cooked perfectly. Liked the outer crust on the pork buns. Rice portion was enough for at least 4 people to split. The mushroom tofu skins were a unique dish. Desserts were a little weak on this visit. Missed the peach sorbet

Traditional Chinese at its finest. Clean and tasty but little expensive.

My friend enjoyed the experience here more than I do. The restaurant is beautiful with service and atmosphere that you normally experience at Western and Japanese food restaurants. Food quality is high, though not all to my taste. Main entree was excellent, but everything else was so so (we had the Classic). HL Peninsula in South San Francisco is more to my taste buds.

This place is classy, sophisticated and fun. The vibe is terrific and the food is delicious. Great cocktails too. Service is friendly. One of my favorite places in SF.

Terrible service with mediocre food. Had the lunar new year 7-course menu; all but one were at a quality they should be ashamed of. The citrus salad was nothing special and could have easily been just oranges and baby greens from sweetgreen on a blind taste. Oyster tasted not remotely fresh, with the “shrimp†part of the shrimp butter missing. Fish cheeks were overcooked. The crab noodle dish was nice, but certainly not inventive. The worst part of the night was, however, when I specified a cilantro aversion (it tastes like soap to me) at the beginning of the night, only to receive cilantro in one of the courses. Thankfully it was not an allergy so it just ended at ruining the taste of the dish, but imagine if it was a critical allergy - they could have killed someone tonight. If you want warm and/or competent service, amazing and/or authentic Chinese food, or a pleasant night, or just want to not die from your allergies, turn the other way and run.

The food is excellent. We had the Mr. Jui's classics menu, 7 dished pre-selected. Every dish was fantastic. And it was a lot of food. Will definitely go back, probably with reservations. We were lucky to get seated at the bar as walk ins, but it was a little drafty next to the door.

4.5 - Enjoyed some dishes, did not particularly like others. Flavours did not always combine together kindly, others turned out bland. Sharing style plates. Lovely interior design. Drinks were very nice.

Delicious food and cocktails, amazing space! The seafood dumplings were incredible. I also loved the Happiness cocktail. Frothy and tasty.

A superlative experience in every respect. I came with a group with no reservations on a Friday night in prime time. They estimated 45 minutes wait, and we got on the list, but the hostess immediately ran outside to tell us that someone moved, giving us four seats together at the bar. We ordered half the menu, including every dessert. All of us, including a recognized authority, loved it. The cocktails made generous use of Asian flavors, and had the balance of expertly designed drinks. Mushroom bao were delicate, woodsy and divine. The whole trout was a highlight, and desserts were uncommonly satisfying with both depth and unapologetic sweetness. Loved everything but the beef fried rice, which in my judgment had too few, too large beef cubes. Service was prompt, organized, and friendly. I would return at any opportunity.

Really cool spot w/ very pretty drinks. It's not clear which seats are reserved vs not. Great for a date night. Food choices are pretty limited for those with dietary restrictions

Had a lovely meal here, great food with a twist and superb service.Ambiance and service was solid. Open kitchen setup so you can smell fresh dishes that are coming up. Ambiance feels both fancy and casual.Scallion pancake. Pancake was my favorite. Unique twist with some sour cream sauce and chives. Light and tasteful.Steak fried rice. Great finisher. Not too heavy but packed with flavor.Mapo tofu. Really flavorful, has a kick so watch out. You might want to get some white rice with it.

The food is delicious. We had to wait 20 minutes before getting seated for out reservation, and it took a while to get our cocktails. Other than that, the service was great. I especially.lovrd the buns and the "joy" cocktail!

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. The food was delicious. Many authentic dishes and imaginative combinations. This is an upscale Chinese restaurant with great decor and a fun ambience. Cocktails were good, but some that used teas were a bit unbalanced (overpowered by the tea). Price point was a bit high in my opinion. I'll definitely go back again, but considering the reservation process and cost, might wait for a special occasion.

It's not really Chinese food, just food that's sort of based on the cuisine. The bread on the BBQ Pork buns tasted too sweet? The trout with caviar was really good, same with the fried rice. But it's pretty expensive, and you're mostly paying for the ambience and the Michelin Star.

Decided to randomly drop in on a Friday night for a coworker's going away dinner. Didn't have a reservation but we did immediately get seated at the bar. Ordered the multi course dinner with the wine flight. Everything was delicious. The quail was one of the best I've ever had! I'm disappointed that I wasn't more hungry because I couldn't finish all the dishes! Also the bartenders were great to chat with!

One of the best meals of the year. Have to make reservations well in advance but we were lucky enough to get 4 of us at the bar walking in.

Just wondering when's the next time I'll be SF so I can come here again. The trout baked in salt was delicious! Perfectly cooked and the garnishes made the whole dish a perfect bite each time. We order some other dishes, but that fish alone is enough for me to give this place a 5 star and ponder when will I be back here again. Lovely service and fantastic space.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at Mister Jiu's last night. I made a 9pm reservation for two on a Friday and we were seated promptly. Our server was friendly and provided a number of helpful recommendations (courage cocktail was yummy with just a mild kick). I was planning to order a second cocktail, but he disappeared sometime between our small bites and dessert.

The place was very clean and the service provided was outstanding.

I’m very biased but this is my favorite restaurant in San Francisco after living here for 4.5 years. Excellent atmosphere with decor that reminds me of the best parts of the New York restaurant scene, it feels a bit like an escape from the outside world. The food is a hit every time across the menu. Eating at the bar or catching a drink there before sitting down is highly recommended. Word to the wise, if you’re ordering the duck, make sure not to over order as it comes out last so you don’t want to be full with a plate of duck.

Chinese food and the scene at this place is super good. i can say this place does it for me. the service was friendly and sociable. the place has an awesome feel to it. food is like a restaurant in louisville i loved.

Great ambiance, super nice and helpful staff, very delicious food and very good wine picks.

Wednesday night dinner with coworkers. We've ordered various appetizers, whole fish, and duck, finishing with a couple of desserts to share between the five of us. Absolutely all dishes were incredibly delicious!Great service and ambiance!I will definitely be back.

To be honest, I had better dumplings and the desert was average too. The eggplant was nice though. In summary, I don't think you can make things tasty by beautiful plating and charging a premium.

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants within my living area. Some of my most-liked foods here are Cheong Fun, Black Sesame Cake, Chilled Beef Tendon, and so on. I go there with my friends and spend time gossiping and sometimes for doing party.

We loved this place! The food was an unexpected version of sophisticated Chinese food. Everything was delicious, particularly the mushroom fried rice and the apple tartine. Our waitress was wonderfully attentive and efficient.

One of our favorite restaurants in SF that we keep going back to time and time again. Obsessed with the wagyu beef fried rice and the taro cakes. Service is great too - we once turned up on the wrong day and they honored our reservation anyway.
